JUST SAY “YES!”
9 OF EUROPE’S BEST “WILL YOU MARRY ME” LOCATIONS
LITTLETON, Colorado – March 30, 2016 – When it comes to popping the question … You know, the big one … it’s all about location, location, location. Now, Monograms Local Hosts® are weighing in on their favorite, “will you marry me” spots and activities. From landmarks to legendary views, these proposal-worthy places will ensure a “yes.”
Horse & Carriage Ride – Departing from the Eiffel Tower, couples will experience the romantic ambiance of the City of Love on rides that last from 30 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes (giving the asker plenty of time to build up nerve to pop the question).
Eiffel Tower – Every night, every hour (on the hour) this iconic landmark is covered in golden lights and sparkles for five, full minutes, lighting up the city and the desire to experience a lifetime of love. Is anyplace on earth more romantic?
Trevi Fountain – Don’t all romantic roads lead to the Trevi Fountain? According to legend, if you toss a coin over your shoulder and into the fountain, you will return to Rome. Throw a second coin if you’re in search of love and a third if you’re hoping to get married. For all of those third coin-contenders, the newly restored marble at the base of the Trevi Fountain is a perfect place to say, “I will.”
Fontana Dell’Acqua Paola – If Trevi Fountain seems too cliché a choice, another beautiful and historic, white marble Roman fountain can be found perched on top of Janiculum Hill. This fountain actually served as inspiration for Trevi Fountain.
St. Mark’s Campanile –St. Mark’s Campanile is open until 9 PM in the summer and 7 PM in the spring and fall. Twilight views over Venice promise a romantic proposal.
Ca’ d’Oro – For a proposal fit for a queen (or king) Ca’ d’Oro is a palace on the Grand Canal. Known as the “golden house,” this palace offers a floral Gothic-style background for the perfect “will you…” Local Hosts recommend getting engaged on the balcony.
For a couple of casually beautiful, outdoor locales, Nice’s Local Hostts recommend Castle Hill (offering a view of the bay) and Promenade Des Anglais (a palm tree-lined promenade that sets the stage for a beautiful proposal).
San Miniato al Monte – Standing atop one of the highest points in the city, this 1,000-year-old basilica is considered to be one of the most scenic churches in Italy. Its marble façade creates a picturesque spot to pop the question.
